Terms and Conditions of Service
Last updated: 16/06/2026
Welcome to AvenChess. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your purchase of and access to our interactive online chess courses, digital content, and related services (collectively, the "Course"). By enrolling in the Course or clicking "Buy", "Buy Now", "Submit Payment", or any equivalent confirmation button, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Account Enrolment and Security
Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old, or have the explicit permission of a parent or legal guardian, to purchase a Course.
Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the checkout and enrolment process.
Access limitations: Your account login credentials and course access are strictly for your personal, non-commercial use. Sharing, selling, or distributing access to another individual or third party is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate termination of your account without a refund.
2. Intellectual Property Rights
Ownership: All materials provided within the Course, including interactive chess boards, puzzles, tactical drills, video modules, text lessons, graphics, software, and training content, are the exclusive property of AvenChess or its licensors.
Licence: Upon purchase, you are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable licence to access the content solely for your own personal chess training.
Restrictions: You may not copy, record, download, reverse-engineer, redistribute, resell, or publicly display any part of the Course without our prior written consent.
3. Cancellation and Refund Policy
We want you to feel confident in your enrolment, which is why we offer a clear financial policy before your learning journey begins.
Money-back guarantee: We offer a 100% money-back guarantee on a Course if your cancellation request is received by us in writing before the official scheduled course start date, or before digital access to the course area/materials has been provisioned to your account, whichever occurs first.
Immediate delivery and loss of cancellation rights: Because our interactive chess courses may deliver immediate digital content, software tools, and database access, you acknowledge and agree that once you access, stream, download, log into, or otherwise use any portion of the interactive course materials, all sales are final. By initiating access, you choose to receive immediate delivery of digital content and waive any statutory cooling-off or change-of-mind refund rights provided by your local consumer jurisdiction, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
Faulty content or discrepancies: If the interactive digital platform contains a technical fault that prevents access, or if the content differs fundamentally from the promotional syllabus provided, you may be entitled to a repair, digital replacement, or full or partial refund. Technical issues must be reported to our support team promptly for evaluation.
4. Course Delivery and Modifications
Availability: While we strive to provide reliable access to our online platform, we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Occasional maintenance, platform upgrades, internet disruption, or external hosting failures may occur.
Content updates: We reserve the right to modify, update, refine, or replace interactive content, chess engines, databases, exercises, or training materials at any time to maintain educational quality and platform security.
5. Limitation of Liability
As-is basis:Digital content and tools are provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without express or implied warranties, except where required by applicable consumer law.
No results guarantee: While our courses and drills are designed to improve chess understanding and strategic play, we do not guarantee specific rating increases, tournament results, or competitive outcomes.
Maximum liability: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total financial liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms or your use of the Course is limited to the amount paid by you for the specific Course purchase.
6. Governing Law and Disputes
Resolution: In the event of a dispute, you agree to contact our support team first so that we can seek an amicable, informal resolution.
Jurisdiction:If an informal resolution cannot be reached, any legal dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration or the standard courts of the country where the platform's operating business entity is legally registered, subject to any mandatory consumer protection laws that apply in your location.
7. Contact Information
If you have questions about these Terms, or if you need to request cancellation under our money-back guarantee before your course starts, please contact us at support@avenchess.com or via our Support Page.
